Yes that could be an explanation. But you could buy the BMW in the US and then import it to Australia… A friend of mine did this too and saved about 10.000 Euros!
It all comes down to the volume of cars sold in any one country.Still infuriating though.
BMW cars are great for long trips and drive very nicely. The problem about BMW are the salesmen, in Germany they’re terrible. A year ago i went to BMW Frankfurt, i was interested in a BMW X6 M – first thing he asked me was what i do for a living, after i told him he tried crawling up my ass as far as he could. Another time at another BMW Dealership in Frankfurt i lied and said i was a bureau guy – then he went rude and partly insulted me, later i told him what i really do and he apologized.

yeah that`s a funny thing. I live in Germany, and BMW as you know is a German company, but the car costs here a lot more than in the US. WTF?

the M3 is a world class car but the M6 Grand Coupe doesn’t measure up to the CLS AMG as the CLS AMG has a lot more HP and the Mercedes interior is far superior otherwise would consider the BMW for sure.

Its mostprobably limited to 250 km/h, which is standard for cars who could make much more easily… But you can try to get it unlimited. Eventhough, don’t you have a low speed limit in the US?
